According to Penal Code (1860)

Section - 511: Punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or imprisonment.( যাবজ্জীবন কারাদণ্ডে বা কারাদণ্ডে দণ্ডনীয় অপরাধসমূহ সংঘটনের উদ্যোগের শাস্তি সম্পর্কে দণ্ডবিধির ৫১১ ধারায় বলা আছে।)

উদাহরণ : 'ক' 'ঙ' - র পকেটে হাত ঢুকিয়ে 'ঙ' - র পকেট মারার উদ্যোগ করে। 'ঙ' - র পকেটে কিছু না থাকায় 'ক' অনুরূপ উদ্যোগে ব্যর্থকাম হয়। 'ক' ৫১১ ধারার অধীনে দোষী। - দণ্ডবিধি(দশম সংস্করণ,২০১২), অধ্যক্ষ মো: আলতাফ হোসেন।

Section - 108: A person abets an offence, who abets either the commission of an offence or the commission of an act which would be an offence, if committed by a person capable by law of committing an offence with the same intention or knowledge as that of the abettor.(দেশে বা দেশের বাইরে অপরাধকর্মে সহায়তা প্রদানকারী ব্যক্তি এই ধারার অধীনে দোষী সাব্যস্ত হয়।)

Section - 379: Whoever commits theft shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.(যেকেউ চুরি সংঘটিত করলে এই ধারার অধীনে দণ্ডিত হবে।)
